Keeping harmful chemicals out of our waterways, protecting the health of our workers, and reducing emissions are all very important to us. At First Water we use water-borne marine coatings that are heavy duty yet more environmentally friendly than their counterparts. The diluting agent, distilled water, can be purchased at your local grocery store. This significantly reduces emissions when compared to solvent based paints during application and cleaning. An investment in top grade professional coatings results in a beautiful and durable finish to protect your boat from harmful UV rays, liquids and abrasive materials.
The slick marine bottom paint used is designed to add durability and abrasion resistance when trailering or sliding over rocks, logs, grass, sand, etc. The water-borne armor coating is non-hazardous, eco-friendly and helps prevent the adhesion and transfer of aquatic invasive species. It is also easily repaired.
Our spray and high temperature cure paint booth is capable of handling boats and parts up to 25 feet in length. A robust HVAC system takes in clean air and tempers it to a precise temperature, pressure and absolute humidity. The environmental controls ensure a blemish free finish on your hull. High velocity air flows reduce any exposure to hazardous emissions. Our coating products and exhaust filtration processes meet or exceed the most rigorous VOC (volatile organic compounds) emission requirements.
Water-borne paint waste is recycled in-house. This reduces the waste water stream up to 90%. Professional disposal of the remaining fluids ensures chemicals do not reach our water sources, directly or indirectly.
